- Heeding Warnings: Belshazzar’s story warns us not to ignore the lessons God provides, whether through Scripture, personal experiences, or the lives of others.
- Humility Before God: Pride and idolatry, in whatever form they take, are always barriers to a right relationship with God. True worship and humility are essential.
- God’s Sovereignty: The sudden transfer of power to the Medes and Persians shows that kingdoms and rulers are ultimately under God’s control.
Belshazzar’s story is a powerful cautionary tale about the dangers of ignoring God’s discipline and failing to learn from the past. It calls us to self-examination, urging us to align our lives with God’s will while there is still time.
